Did you know that belief in magical bunnies is mandatory if one wishes to receive baskets of treats? True fact. This is especially crucial in countries where baskets of treats do not routinely materialize during spring feasts.
In other spring festival news, my very own magical mama is visiting to celebrate her 60th birthday. I thank her, with fervent sincerity, for raising me with a wild and fierce love. Then letting me go.
On the subject of growing up, this week Salon is featuring a story I wrote about being a teenager, having cancer, and Madonna.
The title in the book version is Fuck You Seattle.
Salon called it: Desperately Seeking Survival.

Mine is 85 but has a moon group of women who meet monthly for 20 years at full moon and support each others lives daily, sees clients and is bi- coastal. She is also fierce and has loved me deeply. Well, Ramona just told me a couple days ago that the Easter Bunny doesn't exist, and that he isn't magic cause he doesn't even slide down Chimneys. She said she thought parents must be the ones to bring the basket, but stopped short of accusing me. So has she forfeited her right to a basket of treats? If she complains, shall I tell her that it is a true fact and if she doesn't like it to take it up with Bee?

In our house, you have to believe in all manner of things to get things. Fairies only leave notes and treats if you believe in them, Santa only leaves gifts if you believe in him, Easter bunny, etc, etc, etc. Happy Spring holidays!
