1. Ricardo and Rosalio, who worked together to find my bass and return it to me. It got left at the show we played yesterday (2 hours away!). Ricardo is a friend who I've had a falling out with and Rosalio is my ex-boyfriend . But they both helped me out when I needed it .
2. The ladies at 17 Jewels hair salon. DD16 got a terrible haircut elsewhere on Friday, and 17 Jewels fit us in, gave her the cutest cut, gave me a glass of beer--and we got to listen to the debate in the company of some really awesome women.

5. My own hard-assness. The guy who dumped me last week (and called me a saint) was married and lied to me about it. He told his wife, and said that he wanted a separation, but she said she wanted to work things out. Then he told me he was going to "wait" before he committed to that. I told him it wasn't fair to her to do that--and told him he had to make a decision, and that it was going to be fucked up either way, because he did a fucked up thing. So, he dumped me--c'est la vie. In contrast, a dear friend of mine told me last week that her hubby had been cheating on her for years. I think the woman he was cheating with never told him to shit or get off the pot (cuz maybe he would have pulled his head out of his arse and realized how AWESOME my friend, his wife, really is), and now it's a gigantic clusterfuck. Maybe I had to go through what I just did in order to be the ass-kicking adviser to my friend. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't let that shit linger in my life.
6. Oakland. Had a weird night in San Francisco on Friday, and a long day in Novato yesterday, and, both days, coming home to my beautiful, derelict Oakland felt soooo good.
7. My beautiful, sweet wonderful daughters, who share their lives with me, and still let me do nice things for them, still let me take on some of their burdens, let me take some of the hard stuff so they can be soft and pretty and cute....ah....
