gettin' picky and not having to prove stuff

So, this guy was supposed to come over tonight to work on some acoustic music with me. He's in ANOTHER band--you can probably guess where this is going. Anyway, he's my age and has been married, but is actually divorced...blah blah blah. However, in the course of our convo the other day, I was talking to him about my busy schedule/life and he said, "Yeh, I did the domestic thing for a while." and went on to talk about how he got laid off from the mortgage broker industry and he's on unemployment, and he qualifies for an extension, so he's just been playing in a rock band and partying.
And yesterday, I was thinking about how the last time I had a vacation, (you know, time off. Not working, not parenting, not just 36 hours, not laid up in bed with a broken arm or strep throat...) was in, wait for it...1991. Before I had DD16.
Yeh, I've done the domestic thing, too. I'm still doing it, nonstop, and I also play in--no, FRONT--a rock band. I swear, if that guy ever says, "I've done that domestic thing" within earshot of me again, I'm gonna punch him in the balls.
So, he's not coming over tonight.

I might punch him in the balls the next time I see him wether or NOT he mentions the domestic thing. Let him figure it out...JESUS what a mindless, thoughtless nimrod. GGGRRRRRR

I would say to him (of-course I prolly would have only thought of this in hindsight), "And by the domestic thing you must mean the I have a life, thing.

"We have a secret in our culture, and it's not that birth is painful. It's that women are strong."

by the domestic thing, you mean have responsibilities and act like a grown up and take care of my business.
