the worst thing about spain

Is that the pregnancy tests are way f'in' expensive! There is NO such thing as otc medicine here. You can't even buy band-aids at the dollar store, much less pregnancy tests. You have to go to the pharmacy for anything even remotely medical. At 15 euros a pop i can't afford to have a home pregnancy test until my rag is actually late, but if my ttc takes long we could have some expensive months here. Isn't there some kind of like bill nye the science guy litmus test i could do with cactus juice or some shit?
the only cool thing about ttc is the hot unprotected sex, and dh being all cute and making comments about how our life with dream baby will be.
Ok and maybe i like whining.

but i have no idea where i would get one now. I gave it to my BF (after a serious sterilization) along with my rabbit habit when i left the states.
I wonder if my cervix does turn blue... never did get pregnant when i had it- that was from when i was trying not to.

but I know your pain. The tests here in Germany are also crazy expensive & I must have used 4 or 5 with this baby.

Keep us posted!

cervix. If it's blue, you're pregnant.

Sounds crazy but it's true.

Other than that, wait and see!? Or you could ask a friend to send you some cheapo preg tests in the mail.

when i got pregnant, i coincidentally had an annual exam four days before i missed my period. i always had a regular cycle, so i can figure that at the time of the exam it had been about 12 days since conception. i saw the same nurse practitioner a week and a half later after a home pregnancy test revealed a little digital 'preggo' banner and her response was this: "holy SHIIIT." she'd had no clue!

so how long does it usually take for the cervix to change enough for it to be noticeable? the nurse who examined me before i knew i was pregnant worked at planned parenthood, mind you, so i'm sure she's seen her fair share of knocked-up cervixes (cervices?)!

So I guess if you've had this experience before, chances are getting a speculum and looking at your cervix probably won't reveal much. "Cunt" by inga Muscio has a lot of great info on checking yourself and getting to know your "juices" so to speak. Not sure if you can get a copy but it's a good read.

That´s what got me started on sewing rags!

seriously, i think every woman should own a copy of this book.

as far as my cervix, i'm hoping to not have to do any self-inspection any time soon! i don't plan on adding to my family for a looong time.... i was just curious, for motormouth's sake, about how dependable the cervix-check is in determining early pregnancy. hopefully she'll have some luck if she decides to give it a go!
