in the summer of 2000, i was a legal observer {someone who is supposed to bear witness to and record the {mis}behavior of police/authorities at protests} for a solidarity protest in detroit during the OAC {organization of american states} meetings across the river in windsor, canada, and the detroit police did targeted, mass, pre-emptive arrests of local activists; the city of detroit limited the protest site to one block - not even one square block - one block that ended at the river, and there were police on the street five deep on either side {looking scared as hell 'cuz they'd been shown training films that vehemently asserted the protesters were out to kill them}, coast guard boats in the river {in case we decided to swim to canada?}, plain clothes officers in the crowd trying their square-assed damndest to incite violence {i shit you not}, and fucking SNIPERS on the rooftops all along the block and in a couple of police helicopters circling. the city of detroit spent FIVE MILLION dollars on policing that protest, and this was BEFORE 9/11 and before w's first coup. the u.s. has been getting scarier and fuckin' scarier for a long while now.

Is that you? That song was awesome. I was just discussing with Sexy Husband how no one writes protest songs anymore. We have plenty to be pissed about, where are the songs? That was great!

go to www.myspace.com/placentamusic. Babel is an anti-war song, OUSD is about how bad the public school system is, Pimpin' Bitch is about pimping MEN over the internet, Too Much Woman is a ode to, well, my father, amongst others, and SBG and SuperGenderBender are two versions of the same song about being in lust with an FTM.

I pretty much only write protest songs.

I posted awhile back about not voting Democrat just to keep the Republicans out of office.

Yeah this really was the straw that broke the camels back for me.

Ob@ma is looking pretty damn fine next to McC@in, P@lin and a fucking police state.

Did they ever break a law? Why did Sharif say he has a pending felony conviction? I can see possibly a misdemeanor charge for trespassing or resisting arrest or failing to respond to an officer (in some areas this is a ticketable offense though it will not hold up in court). Maybe some of those things happened and were not seen on camera. A felony is a big fucking deal and we should have heard about whatever was surrounding that. Looking at this objectively; what are we not hearing about here? Were they actually breaking any laws?

The secret service ripping off their passes is creepy as hell.
