I was listening to this song the other day and I thought of you and Mitch (it's a good thing, I swear!). I don't know if John Prine is really your thing, but I just think the song is funny and has great lyrics. I actually wanted it to be our wedding song, but it's the one concession I made to my mother's sensibilities ("gettin' it on like the easter bunny" would have made her faint dead away!). When you first described Mitch and you & your relationship, it reminded me a little of my husband and me...and by extension, this song. Not necessarily in the particulars but more the general vibe. The intro is kinda long, song actually starts at about 1.30.
