DH bought me a beautiful cast iron pan for xmas in cherry red. I dropped it and the handle broke off.
WTF?

Should I try and return?
Anyone know how to pronounce phonetically?

And a friend of mine totally cracked all the enamel on hers when she dropped it. BUT, they will totally replace! I think you have to contact the company. Or the store might just let you exchange if you have the box and receipt.

P.S.
Lucky duck! I love those and have been coveting from afar for years...

keep a computer record ( french kitchen store here in Santa Monica). I called and they said bring it back and they will replace! I'm so happy. It was my Christmas gift from Mark. Candy apple red skillet.

I heart the stuff. Yes, call them. They will replace it. It has a lifetime warranty as I recall. I just had a friend send back two pans coated with nonstick that peeled up in a spot and her's were even seconds bought at an outlet. They gave her a catalog to choose from as replacements. If your pan is still on the market, they should replace it with one exactly like it. If it is older, you have a list of stuff with a hand signed letter telling you your compensation spending limit that you can choose to order from, only bummer was that the colors in that catalog are limited to alot of blues, reds and greens. My friend got a new crepe pan and a bunch of ceramic stuff that she had been pine-ing for. Hope that helps.
