32 years ago today that was the first thing out of my trembling mouth. After 32 hours of labor I was ripped from my mother's abdomen and sent on a week long journey, alone. Three hospitals, a collapsed lung and an NICU later I was finally reunited with my mother. Today isn't shaping up to be much better. Happy Birthday to me. It was just another reminder of lowering, nay, eliminating expectations. They always make me suffer. (and i'm not saying that in a martyr way, expecting really is a bad way to go through my life).

Started with crying but ended with fabulous hair and thoughtful gifts, free daycare, a great lunch with my babysitter/friend as well as mad, mad love from my babies.
