I made it one month free of gluten, sugar, and dairy!

Okay, I made it 4 weeks, technically. But today I have 3 birthday parties and I didn't want to avoid cake that many times in a row. I've been really active lately, but I was shocked to discover yesterday morning that my total weight loss for the past 4 weeks is 10 lbs. That's like 2-3 lbs a week. It really inspires me to keep the diet going just as it is. However, I know I need to put a few key things back in: bread & probably mayo for sandwiches, an occasional sugar treat, cereals, butter for my mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. I've started to post this entry twice already, i"M just gonna post w/out stressing over what else to add. Um, I ate cake & ice cream & pizza & a donut today. I actually feel nauseaous. So there you go. But I got my birthday parties on!

Thanks all! I'm taking a little break now from the diet, as I've just arrived in my parents' house in Wisconsin, which is just dairy, gluten, and sugar central. But I will be stoking the diet's fire as much as I can during my stay whenever I can. I just hope I don't gain the 10 lbs back.

wow! good on you mama, that is some hard work! i always notice a different feeling in my being once i eat dairy, which is the one food i eat that maybe i shouldn't... but, you know, bella's allergies are a big mystery to all of us so i do what i can while still attempting to enjoy some food that might really be forbidden. i say, eat what makes you feel good, dabble everyonceinawhile in the food that you love but can make ya feel icky. unless you got tits of steel and can just give it all up at once, its better to make the effort to do what you can than give up totally on feeling good through foods.

the vegan mayo in the refrigerator section in your health food store is very tasty.

WOW! That is quite an accomplishment! Good for you! "Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we're here we might as well dance".- Maya Angelou

You can definitely tweak it to make it work long term. I read, in martha I think, that avocado was a good mayo substitute. I don't know but I can see that it may be tasty pureed and spread on a sandwich.
