*ouch*

So the flights were great. I made it all the way to San Jose without dying. Then I stopped at the restroom to change baby K and put her Snuggli carrier on the counter next to the changing table, turned to get a diaper and she fell head first, 3 feet to the marble floor. Thus ensued 2.5 hours of paramedics, large crowds at the airport watching the freaked out mom and screaming, hysterical baby, backboards, cat scans and an ambulance ride...not in that order. FUCK. Baby K has a huge shiner but according to the docs her head is OK but she looks like I beat her. gawd. We fly out at 6am. We had to leave the party early because Baby K was tired and there were way too many people. But on the bright side me and the baby got to sit alone in a lovely rose garden and we've had a lot of time to hang with each other and the weather has been great. Just vibe me double on the way back as they are expecting storms in Milwaukee and I really, really don't want any more crises this weekend. Thanks!

frightening experience. SOOOOO glad that K is alright and that you two spent good time together. Thinking about you both...

Poor Baby K! And poor lunarmama! How stressful and scary for all of you. I hope the trip back was uneventful and any storms blew away (they did blow through Minnesota mighty fast last night!!!) so as to not be in your way.

That's crazy LM! I'm so glad k's ok, that's some crazy drama. I hope the rest of the trip is easy going, and of course, your flight home will be completely uneventful (with a spare seat on either side). Best wishes.

That is so scary... I'm glad K is alright!!!

This happens to a lot of kids, the one time DS fell on his head from counter height, it was on a marble floor too. He was fine too, I think I cried more than he did.

Vibes for an uneventful rest of the weekend!

That sounds like an awful experience! I am glad she is okay! Don't know if you are already back, but the storms blew through pretty quick.

oh no! that makes my whole body cringe. poor baby! i'm SO glad she's ok. it always comes down to just a few seconds where your whole life could change. i hate that! then you replay them over and over. but not if things turn out ok, as here. When R fell 2 ft off the bed, his tummy & ribs half onto a briefcase and scraped his leg on a metal shelf (this was the junky side of the spare bed room), the thoughts of tetanus & internal bleeding that plagued me for a day just sucked. again, so glad K is all right after her fall.

this made my jaw drop -- you must have been terrified. I probably would have needed tranquilizers just to get through the hospital experience.

I am so glad to hear she's ok -- these kids have rubber bones and man, are they tough.

Big hugs to you and baby K.

I was only there for a little over 36 hours so I just didn't have the time. I'm planning on going back this fall though so I'll keep you posted!
