Yay, I made it one week.
I don't truly feel any different yet. I've heard that dairy takes like 2 weeks to really get out of the system, so we'll see where I am midmonth. I'm still mucousy from the cold I got a month ago, I expected that to go away faster this week but it didn't.
My biggest challenge has been catching sight of the Mexican c*ke in the fridge (dh keeps his unfinished glass bottles there & I'd always take sips), and the cookies I baked last saturday. Also the zattar bread just shipped over here from the good arab bakery in detroit, from MIL's family. it smells soooo good, thank goodness we have a big batch and lots frozen so it will still be there at the end of July when I can have it (I leave for my 3 week WI/Chicago vacation at the end of this month). I'm really liking the soy yogurts, and Bob's Red Mill gluten free bread mix really took care of my bread craving. I made it in my Breadman machine on the Whole Wheat Rapid cycle and it came out crusty and chewy, a dense bread great toasted or for a pb & J sandwich. I got natural pb that's just peanuts, and strawberry spread that's just strawberries and pectin. So, on to the next week!
I like the challenge of coming up with what to eat every day, but at this point I'm recycling the same type of things from last week. Dinners are still kind of different: I had sushi last night, and ham, potatoes, broccoli the other night. I guess soy sauce has wheat in it? But somehow this seemed so insignificant that I didn't really care.
I'll probably just post weekly now unless something cathartic happens.
