last day before gluten, dairy, sugar, caffeine free

I've had a nice day of baking choc chip cookies and eating as many as I can, and treating myself to a whole mexican coke (made with real sugar instead of hfcs). The coffee with cream and sugar was extra good this morning. Tomorrow will be interesting!

I know you have probably already considered this but I'd like to throw out there that it will be normal to eat the foods you are trying to avoid. I mean, it won't be easy to give it all up at once and you shouldn't hold yourself to that strict of a standard. Give yourself wiggle room! Don't feel like its all over if you eat something you *really* would rather not. A little bit at a time.

It took me 11 months to really adjust and enjoy wheat, gluten, and dairy free. It is a long process that should be done a little at a time. It can be done and you will do it if you don't come down on yourself if you slip back into old eating habits! I'm happy for you in your decision to do this. I know for me, if I eat so much as a cheese sandwich, I can feel the mucus build up in my sinuses and my joints ache.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 - 1860)

I read somewhere that it is common to take up to two years to fully acclimate to a wheat/dairy free diet. Good luck on eliminating all the things at once, but don't feel horrible when you slip.

you mean like when i handed dd a cookie and then without thinking licked the chocolate off my finger, then ran to the sink to wash it out of my mouth? heheh. I think it's key for me this month to not allow any of that stuff past my lips. i just slip into "rewarding" behavior so easily at the mere mention of denial. I need to stick to it this month. But if I make it a more permanent diet choice, then yeah, I know I'll allow the occasional slippage.
