The mysterious illnesses of children

Now, if your 4 year old had woken up twice in the night vomiting with a fever and chills and barking like a seal and crying because he said his legs hurt, it would be a no-brainer that you wouldn't send him or her to school the next morning, right? I made the seemingly easy decision that T would stay home at 2AM this morning. At 9AM he was running and skipping back and forth the length of the apartment, singing and ravenously hungry. Meanwhile I am shattered from my sleepless night, and there he is chatting away at me non-stop. I really could have used some quiet time with him in school... How do they bounce back so quickly??? This is like the 5th or 6th time this year I've felt like an idiot for keeping home. I guess I should count my blessings that as a SAHM I don't have to burn my own sick days like this, but still.

I think in a similar situation I actually dragged DD to the ER in the middle of the night - just to have her skipping around in the waiting room. Make tomorrow a nap day (for you!)
Glad he's feeling better!
