ok, i'm going to try this

its not going to be the long and beautifully written birth story, but its what happened - as far as i can remember it.

i woke up on tuesday morning and felt a little gush. so i got nick to grab a towel and stood up. so i thought that i broke my water, but it wasnt a lot of water so i didnt really know. shortly after i had 2 rounds of diarhea (sorry, TMI?)
so i called the midwives and let them know that i figured my water broke and they just said to keep them posted. no sweat.
so i was getting contractions, but nothing that was anything big or constant. so i just kept walking and then eating and sleeping.
at 3:30 i had an appointment that i had already shedualed at the midwives, so i went. mary (the mean mean midwife) really aggrivated my cervix. it didnt feel nice!! right after that i had 3 really wicked contractions in 5 minutes. them we went home. just before we got home i had a 4 minute long contraction. sucky. really sucky.
when we got in, i let my mom know that she should take my mil and the kids for dinner and leave us to get ourselves into labor. it worked! we walked and they were 3 mins apart. it was great!
the midwives came over at 7pm and checked me. penny - my other mean (but yes, very nice) midwife not only aggrivated my cervix again, but looped her fingers into my 5cm, dialated cervix and pulled...mmmmm that feels so nice!!
we went out again after that and walked and walked and walked around the block. with every contraction i had to stimuate my nipples and also squat low. i can only guess at what the neighbors were thinking! but they stayed at 3 cms apart and getting stronger. when i got home (after 45-60 mins) they started to slow down, so we went out again for a bit. the midwives came back at 9pm and checked me again. my contracions were doing good and staying 3 or so mins apart and i'd gotten to 7cm. so i stayed home and squatted and rolled on the ball and tried to really break my water (cause it turned out i probably just pee'd myself - who knew??), but it wouldnt break. the babe's head was down lower and it was progressing.
at 10pm i finally got to get into the pool - thank god! they were getting so bad. but really in reality we were only 5 hours into this, so i was still pretty lucky.
they slowed a bit, but then picked up again. by 11:15pm they checked and he was all the way at 0 station, waters still hadn't broken, but were bulging out, and i was still about 7cm. so she broke my water and holy shit did that work!!
20 mins later i pushed out lief, all 9lbs 14oz of boy!! it took me 3 mins. i was on all 4s and got the head out with some grunting. then, since the cord was round his neck i had to turn so they could get a better look. so i'm on my back with a head out of my vag. they decide that theres not room for them to move the cord so i just push and out he comes!!
so there, thats the story. i had no tearing, and what they've called a "bloodless birth". i bearly even pooped!!

i did good and i'm damn proud of myself. the after pains have been a bitch to say the least, but they're getting better, and drugs help!

thanks for reading!!
