Chirstmas Presents for Dads

Submitted by lana on Wed, 12/19/2007 - 6:43pm.

I know there was a post about this a few days ago, but I couldn't find it!
I need suggestions for what to give my dad for Christmas. What are you guys getting your dads? I was going to make him anything but then I couldn't think of anything he'd like, and now time is running out ...
He is an old hippie, artistically inclined, a musician ... Any ideas?
Oh, and under $40.

a gift subscription to Nat. Geographic ($15!! for a whole year!) He loves that mag and it's hard to find here for some reason.

Are there any mags he likes? Get a subscription.
What about a retrospective of one of his fave artists? Or a book about something he's into or done (like a book on a concert, event or period of time he's interested in/was part of).
A set of artists tools in the medium he uses? Artist supplies are expensive and I've found most artists hate buying that stuff for themselves. You could definitely get something nice for $40.

Good luck!

He's also into politics, so this year I set up a cafe press store and ordered a "campaign t-shirt" for my baby.

I also got him a 3 mo. subscription to Netflix.

I often get him CDs or biographies of/about musicians he likes.

I got him an oversize mug (he loves coffee) in green (his favorite colour) that says "innocent bystander" LOL
I usually make my Dad a basket of jams, nutella, chocolates and other goodies like that (he lives alone), sometimes a family picture.
