margaret, why? why why why the view????

Submitted by punkmama on Mon, 06/18/2007 - 3:30pm.

ok i am madly in love with margaret cho, this has been the case for many many years. she is guest co-hosting on the view...since she is one of my "friends" on myspace (yeah! me and margaret are like this) i got a bulletin about it so, since i am off on mondays i felt compelled to watch.
i am watching now, with a grimace of horror, i HATE these women, barbara walters is a dried up, self-important crone, that skinny blonde bimbo is vapid and grating, the other one? joy i think? is just that fussy, conservative middle aged lady in the admin office where you work that smiles at you but then tells your boss that you were 20 minutes late while they are at lunch somewhere you couldn't afford to go.
margaret is being a watered down version of herself, which is paining me, because every time i attempt to water down to fit in it has broken my heart in the long run. that is me though. she is plugging the true colors tour she is on without mentioning what it is or who it benefits, which makes me very ill. she is getting a weird response from the other women too. she looks like she is having fun, though.
anybody else see/seeing this?
gaaaaaaaahhh.

margaret is a goddess, she's paid her dues.

i think it takes guts to step to the rusty vagina/manwich known as walters! walters is fucking scary! i wouldn't even have the guts to look her square in the eye!

*i would be afraid that i would melt!*.

this tour is cool - if it can get national promo - it should get pitched live.

i'm sad that missed it!

Rusty vagina!!! So that's why her lips are pursed all the time!

*calling out a woman's vagina as "dusty" is reasons for an ass whuppin' on this site!*.

i'll take my chances.

this old lady is bitter & strange. her best work was like 30 years ago, can't she afford to retire yet?! will she continue to work until a pile of dust & polyester remains in her chair? this is kind of gross. celeb's need to recognize when it's time to hang up their hat.

my hollywood radar suspects that she's a celeb drama queen. isn't the view, her show? you wouldn't make the decision to put someone as radical or opinionated as rosie on the show, if you didn't want to stir up the pot and create some disputes.

she's no better than jerry springer.

*springer actually has a leg up, because he doesn't really try to front as a "serious" journalist, etc.*

take care,

of course she's not talking (or, perhaps, being allowed to talk )about the purpose of the True Colors tour. nor is she talking about the rest of the line-up on the tour. because you-know-who is also on that tour, the one who just left the view, the one with the balls (or, rather, ovaries) of steele, the one who dared speak the truth, the one who wasn't afraid to call a spade a spade, and then walk away. sorry to say it but margaret cho is - clearly -as willing to eat shit for a gig as the rest of them. well, the rest minus a rare few here and there. the need and want to be famous --and stay famous--is a disease, not unlike other addictions.

did you watch it? she mentioned Rosie repeatedly and the rest of the lineup as well. she called rosie one of the greatest comedians of all time. what show were you watching??

Since part of "I'm the One that I Want" routine is about how she bent over backwards to accomodate the network for "All-American Girl", and regretted it.

being told that she had to lose weight to play herself. that she ended up in the hospital. they changed the subject.

i'm less in love with margaret cho. not all that surprised. like her well enough, do not love.

i can't stand the women on the view either. i watched it oh so briefly when rosie was on, and not because i really like her all that much, but i was really interested in what would happen when a personality on maintream network tv talked about the US's war crimes... and, now i know. they get canned, and kathy griffen and margaret cho take their place and talk about not being "argumentative." i'm more in agreement with margaret cho on stuff, but i admire rosie a whole lot more. she may be wrong about a lot of things, but she at least sticks her neck out and doesn't get intimidated.

remember star jones? there was star jones, joy behar (who is not really conservative, btw), some other blonde, and remember for a while that chick from talk soup? the tall knockout? i actually liked her. but other than that, it was like watching grass grow. no one talked about anything interesting or topical. it was all spas, whether women should breastfeed in public (!), whether mothers should work (!)..

and babba wawa... who can tell me when she was actually a legitimate journalist? remember her interview with castro? she asked him about his wife. maybe i am missing a lot there, feel free to smack me down on the issue of babba wawa, but i don't remember anything really substantive in her work. at least not in those retrospectives they put on tv about the "first woman co anchor."

i can't imagine not being in love with her. and joy behar is conservative enough to annoy me. maybe mainstream is a better word.
and no, babba wawa doesn't impress me either. she is like a SNL skit of herself.

The View makes me cringe. I haven't watched it since I was pregnant and on bed rest, with only the tv to keep me company. I would very often just fall asleep after hot topics. It bores me to sleep.

I think it has a fairly good chance of getting canceled in the near future, depending on who they pick for the new cohost. I heard Whoopi was in the running?

Submitted by punkmama on Tue, 06/19/2007 - 2:17am.

that would be awkward. they need to give it up. women want to watch women with brains, not good hair. sooooooooooooooooooooooo boring.

I'm a fan of kathy griffin and she's been on a few times since rosie left, co-hosting. I didn't think she'd ever be invited back on the stupid view again because she always makes fun of them in her routine, like personal, behind the scene stuff.
I watched once last week and boy, oh boy was she toned down. I could tell an obvious difference from when she was "just" a guest and a co-host. Maybe her and Margaret want the job so bad(???)they'll kiss ass until they're in and then turn back into themselves. Or not. I watched with the same grimace last week and ended up turning it off after "hot topics". Blech!

yeah that is it. i never thought i would see margaret cho "toned down" it was a bummer.

i hope that the network doesn't chew her up and spit her out too.

that is just plain sad.

because i love her. waaahhh.
