more fashionista advice needed

thank you for your input on the sling. i have purchased one off of ebay and hopefully it will work out.

now, onto important matters. as in breastfeeding. in my clothing. when i had isabel, i dressed like my 40-something mother(a suburban WASP type) for awhile and not much of my clothing was nursing friendly. i have about one button up shirt which is maternity and is already gigantic on me. i have one actual nursing top from majamas which is adorable and a spaghetti tank. but...everything else i own is a t-shirt of some kind and isn't conducive to just pulling it down over my ginormous breasts. i hate pulling my shirt up from the bottom, i feel so exposed.
anyone know where i can get some reasonably priced somewhat non-soccer mom style nursing tops? or types of shirts to buy that are good when you're nursing?

I know others have different thoughts, but I actually really liked the nursing tanks/camisoles. I think I got a couple at Target--don't remember how much they cost--but I just wore one of those under a regular shirt (or by itself if it's hot) and nursed that way. Then you don't have the belly exposure.

it all depends on what you are comfortable with. Boob over the top works for some people, but I don't like it. When its not summer I wear a sweatshirt or cardigan so I can pull the shirt up while leaving the sweater down (and buttoned if I feel the need).
I found a couple cute nursing shirts on amazon.com, but the one I liked was so thick, due to multiple layers, that I got hot in it. And a lot of them look like nursing shirts, which is weird.
I have found some cute stuff at consignment stores - both pregnancy type and baby type often have nursing clothes as well.
Or if you can sew at all you could make them. I had a friend who did it by getting two tshirts (or tanks) and sewing one inside the other and then cutting the boob area out of the inside shirt. Works great as long as you like the layered look.

get a tank top (like a wife beater), make sure it is long enough you can tuck it in. cut a slit in it, wear it over a nursing bra and under every shirt you own. whala! your entire wardrobe is now nursing friendly. when you pull your shirt up you are covered... really this saved my ass (or should i say baby belly?) and it was super cheap and easy.

My thoughts exactly! That is what I have done with both my babies. I hated the nursing clothes, too bulky. I bought a bunch a different colored thin cotton camisols with a nursing bra & basically everything is nursing wear.

those kind with the built in bra (like under $10 at target) and pull the shirt down from the top, for me works just as well as those nursing tank tops, really not much difference. I think special nursing clothes are pretty pricey...

I bought a few from Motherhood but they aren't that nice and I just end up hiking up my shirt anyway. Sometimes I'll wear a tank top i can pull down a little (nursing tanks don't fit my ginormis boobs) under a shirt.
