What do you mamas think of this? On one hand, I applaud the store for not wanting to do this. On the other, it is just the boy's name, he had no choice in it. But the parents knew there would be some huge problems he would have to face when they named him this. And I suspect they welcome it, more publicity for their hate mongering. Ugh, gross all around.

"um, yes, actually, it does - that's the fucking definition of "symbol", ya twit." is what passed through my mind when i read that bit about swastikas from the wife/mother. then, the next thing that passed through my mind was pity - i know, i know, but it was - 'cuz these are either the most moronic OR the most inconsistent avowed white supremacists i've had the displeasure of being made aware of thus far, and frankly, it must just suck to be them, not to mention their kids. "they say they're not racist, but don't believe the races should mix." again, dictionary anyone? bleh.

"Go supermarket. Boo WalMart. I want to go to Walmart and get a cake that says "ass sex" because that's the only way I'm getting any for my birthday. What? They don't make vegan cake? Instead of going to the press and whining (thereby minimalising actual discrimination} I will make my own freaky cake in my own freak den where it belongs."

There are no words that can properly express how much I have missed you.

I wouldn't consider vegans, patriarchy smashers, anti capitalists or trans people extremists. As I said on my blog recently, people gets to define who they call whacko based on how close they are to their own beliefs.

But, I agree that many non mainstream lifestyles of parents can cause some degree of stress to kids. But, you didn't name your kid Ass Sex Bean. Good restraint!

made me laugh! You are so right.

how i truly missed you.

"I'm an extremist, but I didn't name my kid "Vegan Anti-Capitalist Smash the State Queer Gender-fuck Jones".

word to the motherfucking king, you are the king, that is you. king of the hellz-yeah.

but this...this here...

What? They don't make vegan cake? Instead of going to the press and whining (thereby minimalising actual discrimination} I will make my own freaky cake in my own freak den where it belongs.

this makes me truly love you. i am so glad that i am not the only person that feels this way about things like this. you said it so well, i really have nothing to add.

i think these people are horrid, hate-mongering assholes, and i think that the supermarket had a right to tell them to decorate their own despicable name onto the cake. i guess i am really torn on whether or not i "agree" with their "right" to name their kids like that. i know, i know, free speech. but would our culture or society really be worse off if hate speech wasn't protected? really?

Here, the government would refuse the name. In any way. Okay, this is Germany, it was here he started to spread hatress, violence and war. So government is much more sensible about such things. And I think they are right. I will pity the boy when he develops to a non-racist guy. But how big a chance is that? With such parents? They will implant hatress in him. They implant their thinking in him. He is the next generation breaded for Ku-Klux-Clan. If he breaks free from that infiltration he can change his name more easily in the States than he could here.
My wish for his parents: He will choose a dark colored boyfriend. And will be happy as man can be. He will become a fighter for freedom, for love and understanding. He will fight hatress, racism and intolerance.
So, universe do your very best to let this wish come true!

I totally agree. It's sad to me that they would go so far out on a limb as to name their kids extreme names and have extreme symbols all over their house and then back away when they have the full attention of the media. If they are so inconsistent about something they declare loudly, I don't know, it just seems like they lack a solid foundation or something. I feel bad for all of them, especially the kids. I also have to laugh a little and shake my head because this must really be sucking for them and it might have something to do with the universe giving back what we put out there. Sad, yes. Moronic, yes. Hate-mongering, also yes.
