Looking Glass - "Brandy"

There's a port on a western bay
and it serves a hundred ships a day
lonely sailors pass the time away
and talk about their homes
and theres a girl in this harbor town
and she works laying whiskey down

You know the rest.

The beta site will go live any time in the next few days - I'm very excited.

Plus my hands hurt.

Capital L -- loser!

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 17:00 -- Susan

From an email received:
"Don't miss today's broadcast of "Fresh Air," the NPR program hosted by Terry Gross. I am reliably informed that her guest, Bill O'Reilly, fled the studios in a fit of anger -- and that the show will be played in its entirety, including his undignified exit. What did the tiny, soft-spoken Terry ask that drove big, blustering Bill from her Philadelphia studio? Hearing the Fox blowhard explode again may brighten an otherwise grim day."

I'm not a Terry Gross fan, but that was pretty funny. Too bad you have to sit through the first part to get to where he has his little cow & leaves...

NEWS FEEDS QUESTIONS -- your feedback wanted

Tue, 10/07/2003 - 11:31 -- Susan

K, so for the news feeds, to get it to show by topic, I would have to go in and code 'em by hand. I'm trying to think up a really basic set that's not too overly specific that most of the news items will fall into. Here's what I have so far:
Activism
Business
Creativity
Education
Feminism
Health
International
Life
National (US, with apologies)
Parenting
Science
Technology

Please take a look at the feeds we have and note anything else that Really Stands Out that we should have a category for. Like I said, I don't want to get too specific because I do have to hand tag 'em, but I want to make sure I have the basics covered...

web-li-con

Ohhh... I get to blog? I wonder how many new words computer technologies have added to the English lexicon?

So, how come some of the pages I have to scroll to the right to see everything and is there a way to prevent that?

This is fabulous. Let me know what I can do to help (read - I am an unemployed tech-illiterate webjunkie with time on her hands).
