just a quick question about resumes

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Mon, 06/30/2008 - 7:04pm.

I'm applying for a job in london when i move. it's for an apartment manager. the woman i spoke to said to use any cleaning experance i had.
so the jobs i had take up most of the page. i have 2 references on it. do i have to put my education (cause its not really applicable and i'm 31, not right out of school)? i dont want it to be too long. i've got an objection and my jobs and references. it looks good, but is it enough info?

thanks!

what to do when you're a size 22

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Tue, 06/24/2008 - 1:17pm.

i've never been a size 22. i had a little weep about it yesterday when i measured myself and looked at the numbers. it cant be too surprising, but it's still hard to see. I also stepped on the scale yesterday to learn that i'd gained 2lbs. nice. now i'm 212.--read more >>

a question of ethics

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Mon, 06/23/2008 - 8:39pm.

ok mamas. i'm having a dilema.
I am not a gal who takes spending her money lightly. i've been taught by my DH to really make sure that where my money is going is a good ethical choice. that workers are payed well, that the environment is being treated with respect as well as the employee's.--read more >>

So i'm feeling a bit better this morning. paity is still feeling a bit under the weather, but i've got my fingers crossed. i'm looking after K today who is almost 4. he entertains paity quite well, but he's a bit more maintanince, so its a balence.
Lief slept pretty well, but i think is getting a bit of a cold as well.--read more >>

i'm exhausted

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Mon, 06/16/2008 - 10:37pm.

ok, i know why, i have a 6 week old, i get it. but seriously. i'm so tired. here is my situation today:

-paity is feeling sick, nothing serious, but she's got a fever and an attitude.

-lief is your typical 6 week old, he wants his mama. which i love, but when i've got to juggle (almost literally) a 2 year old and a 6 week old, it becomes a bit tricky.

-my house is a mess, as usual. i'm not overly concerned about it, i'd just like to get control of it. my bathroom is clean, which is important to me, but it feels like everywhere i turn there's something else to do. --read more >>

lief is ec-ing!!

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Thu, 06/05/2008 - 9:50pm.

i just thought that i'd celebrate our sucess thus far. i've tried to "pee" lief after his nap yesterday and today, an he's done it!! he pee'd!! so now i;m going to start after all of his naps and before/after baths. i'm just so excited about the prospect of skiopping this potty training business!!
on another note, i cant imagine how people actually survive with more than 2 little kids. nick is starting to work again (casual, so if i need him i've got him), and i'm looking after kids again - one extra a day, so not to bad. mylife has definatly gotten hectic!!--read more >>

postpardum clothes

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Thu, 05/15/2008 - 4:42pm.

oooh, this is the part i hate. i'm 2 weeks post pardum, and i have no clothes. i know you're supposed to be able to just wear your maternity stuff, but that never really fit me. i was always yanking them up. so now, after gaining 70+lbs & pushing out a 10 pounder, i'm not in the best of shape. and i'm ok with that. i understand that there is a period of recovery, i just want to be able to wear something that fits me. my belly is big and quite hangy, so finding things that hide that would be helpful.
oh yea, and i have very limited funds, which doesnt help.
does anyone have any suggestions?

vibes and prayers for my midwife

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Wed, 05/14/2008 - 8:41pm.

i thought i could ask for some help from all of you wonderful women.
my midwife, penny, has just been diagnosed with leukemia. she was fine last week, but came down with fevers and what-not and was admitted thursday. she's one of the most wonderful and caring women that i have ever met. she needs vibes for a fast recovery. she deserves the best, because thats all she ever gives us.

thanks so much for your help.

food questions

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 7:51pm.

my mind has gone blank. for some reason i've forgotten how to feed my 2 year old. i need some inspiration. i do a lot of baking myself so any recipes (especially ones that include hidden veggies or protein) would be so very helpful. i'm going to be looking after kids again after the may long weekend (which is this weekend coming up), and i need to be able to feed them.

i'd love your imput!
thanks!

(ps, all is well here. we're all sleeping and adjusting pretty good to the newest bambino!)

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Sun, 05/04/2008 - 9:10pm.

so i'm feeling pretty happy these days. i think grats are in order.

~ i'm no longer 10 months pregnant!! YAY!
~ Lief is sleeping. he's actually sleeping - can you believe that?? he went from 11 - 8am with only waking once. YAY!
~ my milk came in, and although my boob is super sore from being so damn full, i'm so happy that it's here and he's eating so well!
~ the kids are happy. they love the baby and i've been able to spend time with pait all by herself, even if it is just putting her to bed and reading some stories. i think she's loving that.--read more >>

ok, i'm going to try this

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Thu, 05/01/2008 - 2:44am.

its not going to be the long and beautifully written birth story, but its what happened - as far as i can remember it.

i woke up on tuesday morning and felt a little gush. so i got nick to grab a towel and stood up. so i thought that i broke my water, but it wasnt a lot of water so i didnt really know. shortly after i had 2 rounds of diarhea (sorry, TMI?)
so i called the midwives and let them know that i figured my water broke and they just said to keep them posted. no sweat.--read more >>

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 2:03pm.

my water broke.
vibe away mamas!!

**just to update**

i went for a walk, came home, had some raspberry tea, went for another walk, and then had a nap. nothing too exciting going on.
when i spoke to my midwife she said i should keep my appointment for 3:30 today so they can check me out, and then i'll probably start in on the blue and black cohosh.

thanks for the vibes mamas, i'll let you know when things happen!

ahhhhh!!!

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Sun, 04/27/2008 - 9:17pm.

green party stuff

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 7:30pm.

I just thought i'd pass this link along. http://www.greenpartygoods.com/ In my endless reserching to bring my kids, (this time paity in particular), and planet friendly birthday party i found it. It has the best stuff.
so i've decided that for paitys party favours, i'm going to get little napkins/bandanas and put in them some pencils, little toys (not plastic), and maybe some earth friendly chocolates, and a kids mixed cd that i made. and then tie them up.

i think that'll do!

oh. btw, i'm still pregnant!

hanging in there

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Thu, 04/24/2008 - 1:49pm.

so, obviously, all i can think about is this little baby. but he/she doesnt really want to come out yet. and to be honest, i dont really blame them. but i'm getting a little sore here.
my inner thighs are sooo very sore!! i think its because they're stretching or something. but its so painful. i woke up in the middle of the night last night to pee - again - and my belly was so bad. the muscles are so sore and stretching. it's worse than in the beginning of the pregnancy. it felt like a charley horse in my belly and a contration all at once.--read more >>

i'm still pregnant.

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Tue, 04/22/2008 - 2:04pm.

and i shouldnt be surprised. i'm nervous about the labor and the new addition, which i'm sure doenst help get things started.
yesterday i worked too hard, but i did feel good about having cookies made (some frozen) and the house somewhat clean.
but i'm tired. and i'm huge. it's not getting any easier, it's maybe getting harder, but i'm not sure.

labor vibes would be helpful. and maybe some calm mama vibes too??

thanks mamas!

40 weeks

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 2:18pm.

today.
yikes!!

so in the event that my body doesnt agree with me going into labor, i'm investigating some natural ways and concoctions to get it started. i'd really really not like to try caster oil. (anyone have any stories about that?)

so mamas, give me your methods of starting this madness!! i'm planning on walking as much as my body allows, and squatting lots. i'm not having any sex because my junk doesnt want me to.

anything??

i'm bored.....

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Thu, 04/17/2008 - 10:12pm.

toilet learning - what to do now?

Submitted by sweetdumpling on Mon, 04/14/2008 - 5:16pm.

Patience has been in training pants and diapers (when we're out and at
night) for what seems like forever, but probably 8 months or so. she
has had success (as much as i can hope for with someone who will be 2
in a couple of weeks). she is not at all regular with the potty, but
has gone on it quite often. some weeks it'll be one or 2 a day, other
weeks there will be nothing.
There just doesnt seem to be any progress. in fact, i'd say theres a
bit of a regression- if i can even call it that. she's at a stand
still and i dont know what to do.--read more >>
