so i've made it. we're at my parents house in brighton (just east of toronto). we moved from calgary to london, put our stuff in a storage locker, applied for an apartment and then came here. its been quite the journey. we ended up meeting a wonderful family who had a little (160 acre) organic farm. its like where we want to be in 5 years. we ended up staying with them and volenteering for a week. it was great because they had kids that were the same age (aprox) as our kids, so they just played together. wonderful!!-- read more >>

ok. so we're staying at MIL's townhouse/condo. it's not big, but we're patient people who are doing their best. it looks like our house threw up all over her house, inside and out. i've packed a tonne of boxes and we're kind of organized. i think its getting to me though. all i want is space to breathe. the kids have been around my feet for a week and i can bearly leave the house! it has to end.
tomorrow afternoon we're on our way to medicine hat for our first stop on this 8 day journey. it's only a 3.5 hour trip so i think it's a good one for the first. -- read more >>

i'm sure you've all (or most) felt it before. i'm trying to do too much, but it all has to be done. i'm moving across the country in a couple of weeks. the company that i thought was going to help me doesnt move personal affects. funny, it did last week when i spoke to someone about it for a quote. however, i didnt get there name. i fucked up again and didnt follow the steps that i should have. i should have asked her name and her extention, but i didnt. i had faith that it would all just work out. i keep donig that and keep getting screwed over.-- read more >>

I'm applying for a job in london when i move. it's for an apartment manager. the woman i spoke to said to use any cleaning experance i had.
so the jobs i had take up most of the page. i have 2 references on it. do i have to put my education (cause its not really applicable and i'm 31, not right out of school)? i dont want it to be too long. i've got an objection and my jobs and references. it looks good, but is it enough info?
thanks!

i've never been a size 22. i had a little weep about it yesterday when i measured myself and looked at the numbers. it cant be too surprising, but it's still hard to see. I also stepped on the scale yesterday to learn that i'd gained 2lbs. nice. now i'm 212.-- read more >>

ok mamas. i'm having a dilema.
I am not a gal who takes spending her money lightly. i've been taught by my DH to really make sure that where my money is going is a good ethical choice. that workers are payed well, that the environment is being treated with respect as well as the employee's.-- read more >>

So i'm feeling a bit better this morning. paity is still feeling a bit under the weather, but i've got my fingers crossed. i'm looking after K today who is almost 4. he entertains paity quite well, but he's a bit more maintanince, so its a balence.
Lief slept pretty well, but i think is getting a bit of a cold as well.-- read more >>

ok, i know why, i have a 6 week old, i get it. but seriously. i'm so tired. here is my situation today:
-paity is feeling sick, nothing serious, but she's got a fever and an attitude.
-lief is your typical 6 week old, he wants his mama. which i love, but when i've got to juggle (almost literally) a 2 year old and a 6 week old, it becomes a bit tricky.
-my house is a mess, as usual. i'm not overly concerned about it, i'd just like to get control of it. my bathroom is clean, which is important to me, but it feels like everywhere i turn there's something else to do. -- read more >>

i just thought that i'd celebrate our sucess thus far. i've tried to "pee" lief after his nap yesterday and today, an he's done it!! he pee'd!! so now i;m going to start after all of his naps and before/after baths. i'm just so excited about the prospect of skiopping this potty training business!!
on another note, i cant imagine how people actually survive with more than 2 little kids. nick is starting to work again (casual, so if i need him i've got him), and i'm looking after kids again - one extra a day, so not to bad. mylife has definatly gotten hectic!!-- read more >>

oooh, this is the part i hate. i'm 2 weeks post pardum, and i have no clothes. i know you're supposed to be able to just wear your maternity stuff, but that never really fit me. i was always yanking them up. so now, after gaining 70+lbs & pushing out a 10 pounder, i'm not in the best of shape. and i'm ok with that. i understand that there is a period of recovery, i just want to be able to wear something that fits me. my belly is big and quite hangy, so finding things that hide that would be helpful.
oh yea, and i have very limited funds, which doesnt help.
does anyone have any suggestions?

i thought i could ask for some help from all of you wonderful women.
my midwife, penny, has just been diagnosed with leukemia. she was fine last week, but came down with fevers and what-not and was admitted thursday. she's one of the most wonderful and caring women that i have ever met. she needs vibes for a fast recovery. she deserves the best, because thats all she ever gives us.
thanks so much for your help.

my mind has gone blank. for some reason i've forgotten how to feed my 2 year old. i need some inspiration. i do a lot of baking myself so any recipes (especially ones that include hidden veggies or protein) would be so very helpful. i'm going to be looking after kids again after the may long weekend (which is this weekend coming up), and i need to be able to feed them.
i'd love your imput!
thanks!
(ps, all is well here. we're all sleeping and adjusting pretty good to the newest bambino!)

so i'm feeling pretty happy these days. i think grats are in order.
~ i'm no longer 10 months pregnant!! YAY!
~ Lief is sleeping. he's actually sleeping - can you believe that?? he went from 11 - 8am with only waking once. YAY!
~ my milk came in, and although my boob is super sore from being so damn full, i'm so happy that it's here and he's eating so well!
~ the kids are happy. they love the baby and i've been able to spend time with pait all by herself, even if it is just putting her to bed and reading some stories. i think she's loving that.-- read more >>

its not going to be the long and beautifully written birth story, but its what happened - as far as i can remember it.
i woke up on tuesday morning and felt a little gush. so i got nick to grab a towel and stood up. so i thought that i broke my water, but it wasnt a lot of water so i didnt really know. shortly after i had 2 rounds of diarhea (sorry, TMI?)
so i called the midwives and let them know that i figured my water broke and they just said to keep them posted. no sweat.-- read more >>
